The local description "smokes that thunder" of Victoria Falls in Zambia is one of the greatest natural wonders on the planet. Over 38,000 cubic feet of water cascade down the falls every second, and the sight is simply mesmerizing.
The wilderness of Victoria Falls is an exceptional example Zambia's unspoiled, outback country.
Zambia's national parks are precious natural resources that is prized amongst conservationists. The Luangwa Valley, also known as the "Garden of Eden". is a distinct safari destination. The Safari activities are as diverse as the ecosystems.
The country also attracts adventure-centric travelers in Africa with the offerings of micro light and helicopter flights over the Falls, canoeing along the Zambezi River, fishing on the river, safaris on elephants, horseback riding and many other exciting activities.
HISTORY AND TOURIST ATTRACTIONS:
Most nationals can obtain their visa at the point of entry into Zambia. Current charges are $50 for tourists of most nationalities, including US, Canadian, British and most European countries. All visitors should be medically insured. We recommend that visitors to Zambia take malaria prophylactics. Tetanus, polio, typhoid and the hepatitis vaccinations are recommended. It is advisable to know your blood group type in case of an emergency. Please do ask for up to date health advice in your home country. Depending on which time of year you visit, you may need waterproofs, a warm jacket or sunscreen. The dry months are from April till October and the wet months November till March. Temperatures range throughout the year from between 11-40 C.
The domestic electricity supply is 240 volt, 50 hertz with 415 volt single and three phase supply available for industrial use.
